Short Haired Chicks

It's a good thing I have a friend who likes to run around with me and let me take pictures of her all day long.  It's even fun to jump in and get my own photo taken, too.  A couple months back my friend Liz and I spent a day in Griffth Park where we took turns taking photographs of each other and basking in the sun.  These here photos were actually taken in front of my old house.

Cinco De Mayo

Happy Cinco de Mayo!!

I decided to update since I have a couple minutes to do so.  I wish I could blog more, like, actually blog daily, but I just don't have the time for that.  Seriously, I haven't even gone to the grocery in probably three weeks.  No food for about two now.   Plus, I can't sit in front of a computer if I don't have to for more than 2 hours.   Anyway, here's a little bit of photography for ya.

This photo was taken in 2008 at John Bryan State Park.  I took my nephews on a hike and the light there was glorious.  I remember it even without this picture to remind me.

I found this abandoned apartment complex close to where I work.  Me and a couple guys from work, who also love photography, took a mini adventure to go shoot this place.  It was awesome.  I haven't really sat down to look at my photos, except this one, obviously.  I will soon though.  Maybe.  Hopefully.

I took this picture one night after work as the sun was going down.  I was on the freeway in horrible traffic and decided to shoot downtown LA because I loved the light so much.  I almost hit the car in front of me.   That's the kind of risks you gotta take to get a photo, peeps.

Easter Sunday started out really cold and gloomy.  I had planned a picnic in the park with friends, but had to quickly change plans because no one in LA will go outside when it is cloudy and cold.  As soon as Isaac and I began driving to our friends, the sky began to clear and this is how the day ended.

I shot a show a couple weeks ago and snapped a photo of this beauty.  How gorgeous is she and how great is that lipstick?  Her band is great too.  Check the out here.

There has been a lot of helicopter activity in LA recently.  The above pictures were shot at the Folk Fest I shot and they had to shut down the show for awhile to the police could catch some dude that was trying to rob a market down the street.  Like one block, no lie.

Drove past this scene in Echo Park.  I yelled at Isaac to stop and let me out, grabbed my little point and shoot, and took in every moment.  It was one of the coolest things, ever.

Shot my friend Liz a couple weekends ago.  I love shooting her.  She's so natural in front of the camera and I jumped in a couple photos too.

I really want to do a good time lapse in Joshua Tree sometime soon.  A month or two ago, Isaac and I went camping with a couple friends and I shot this photo of everyone outside the park.

I Just Think This is Funny

My mom loves giving me pep talks and she usually tells me, "Kate, Carpedium!", but one time she, via ichat, said to me..."Kate, CINCO DE MAYO!"  And then I screamed.

Today, I was chatting with her on Facebook chat and brought up that hilarious time.  Here's what happened..
